sophia

so the story goes that the spirit of god came like tongues of fire surrounded by a sound like a violent wind... there was no wind, no fire... just the spirit... amazement & confusion voices of all different languages - yet still with understanding...

all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another,

“What does this mean?

good question!

there it is right in the middle of the story (acts 2)...
but really what in the heck does this spirit stuff mean?
of course the temptation is to go on and answer that question, but what would happend if we were just to sit with it...

the coming of the spirit of which Jesus spoke must have been a phenomenon, but how much more or less so is it for us?

more than ever this pentecost, I've found great depth in that question... a question that transcends the boundaries of time, speaking to the souls of those trying to live with some sought of authenticity in faith, hope and love...

what does this mean
god's spirit is with us
what does sophia mean for this world?
where does she breathe
where does she move
who does she speak to
where is she creating
what is she birthing
where is she needed
to whom is she tending

spirit come...
